ANSWER (8.0+):
The table illustrates how many residents from five European countries lived in each other’s nations in 2011. Overall, Germany and Britain hosted the largest number of foreigners, followed by Spain, while Italy and Poland were much less appealing destinations. However, the total number of Polish emigrants across these five countries was highest, whereas Spain had the fewest.
Looking first at the top three countries for relocation, Germany accommodated roughly 1.2 million expatriates, including 556,000 Italians and 426,000 Poles. Britain ranked second with 1,037,000 foreign residents, around half of whom were of Polish origin. Meanwhile, the Pole community in Spain was significantly smaller, at just 86,000, compared to 391,000 British among a total of Spain’s 861,000 immigrants.
Italy and Poland had far fewer immigrants, at 196,000 and 6,000, respectively. In the former nation, 106,000 came from Poland, whereas the foreign demographics in the latter mainly consisted of Germans, at 4,400, with a negligible 170 Spaniards.
Concerning the overall expatriate population, 3,298,000 people from all five countries relocated abroad, with 1,168,000 being Polish citizens, followed by Italians at 863,670. The numbers for the British and Germans were nearly comparable, at just over 500,000, while Spain’s was the lowest, at 202,170.
